Christie's First Open Online Sale Achieves Highest Total: $6,080,375 | £4,582,046 | €5,383,904

NEW YORK – Christie’s First Open Online: Post-War & Contemporary Art sale from 3 December – 15 December realized its highest total in the sale’s history, totaling $6,080,375.
The sale was 85% sold by lot, 100% sold by value, achieving a phenomenal 163% hammer against low estimate. The sale’s top lot was a striking painting by Loie Hollowell, Linked Lingams in Green, Purple and Red. The painting far exceeded its estimate of $120,000 - 180,000 to achieve $500,000 – which stands as the highest total ever achieved for a single lot in a First Open Online Sale.
A new artist record was established by rising contemporary star Isshaq Ismail with Unknown Faces 8 selling for an astounding $275,000 against a low estimate of $15,000. Other highlights included George Condo’s Pink Nude in Prison, which sold for over double its high estimate for $212,500, and Friedel Dzubas’ Midwest, which sold for $175,000 against a low estimate of $50,000.
