Lot 2701 A Magnificent And Superbly Painted Blue And White ‘Peony Scroll’ Meiping And Cover for HK$67,775,000 / US$8,736,896

Hong Kong – On 30 November 2023, The Tianminlou Collection – one of the world’s most renowned single-owner collections of Chinese porcelain – was presented in a dedicated auction at Christie’s Hong Kong, realising a total of HK$260,440,000 / US$33,550,532. The sale was close to 90% sold by lot. Amongst the Yuan, Ming, and Qing masterpieces offered, the top lot was a highly coveted, rare-to-market Yuan Dynasty blue and white meiping and cover, which realised HK$67,775,000 / US$8,736,896 and incited extremely competitive bidding.

The top three masterpieces achieved remarkable results, surpassing expectations. This exceptional performance demonstrates the high desirability and value of these extraordinary works of art. We are thrilled to witness such a significant appreciation and validation of the exceptional quality and artistic significance of these masterpieces.
