Hong Kong - November, Christie’s Hong Kong Luxury auctions will present collectors with the very best in wines and spirits, extraordinary jewels, important watches and exceptional handbags. Highlights of the auctions include fine collections of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Tuscan wines, an exceptional Jadeite Sautoir named the ‘Heavenly Twins’, the only known Patek Philippe ref. 2523 retailed by Gobbi, Milan and a Matte White Niloticus Crocodile Himalaya Retourné Hermès Kelly 25 with palladium hardware.
Important Watches | 27 November 2019
On 27 November, Christie’s will offer a curated selection of 240 extraordinary watches, highlighted by A One-Of-A-Kind Patek Philippe ref. 2523 retailed by Gobbi in Milan and also known as “L’Heure Bleue”, which will be sold on 23 November in “The Master Piece” auction. Made in 1953 and sold in April 1957 to Patek Philippe’s distinguished retailer Gobbi in Milan, this reference 2523 is part of an exceedingly small series of dual crown world time wristwatches (estimate: HKD 55,000,000-110,000,000). It is thought that only seven reference 2523 dual-crown world time wristwatches in pink gold were ever made. Unique amongst this already rarefied model, it is the only known example of reference 2523 to be double signed with both Patek Philippe’s signature and that of the prestigious Milan retailer Gobbi. Further leading lots of the sale include modern and vintage timepieces from the leading watchmakers, such as a Patek Philippe Ref. 6002 (estimate: HK$12,000,000-24,000,000), and a white ceramic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak perpetual calendar model (estimate: HK$1,200,000-2,200,000). An 18k Pink Gold Semi-Skeletonised 30° Inclined Double Tourbillon Wristwatch by Greubel Forsey (estimate:HK$1,450,000- 1,900,000), will also be offered.
Magnificent Jewels | 26 November 2019
On 26 November, Christie’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels auction will present an outstanding selection of the best gemstones, including D Flawless diamonds, fancy vivid diamonds, jadeite, Kashmir sapphires, Burmese rubies and pearls. Signed jewellery will star in the auction with designs by the most coveted jewellery houses including Cartier, Tiffany & Co, Van Cleef & Arpels and Harry Winston. Leading the auction will be the ‘Heavenly Twins’, an exceptional Jadeite Sautoir (estimate: HK$55,000,000 – 85,000,000). Further highlights include a superb pair of diamond earrings, D colour, Internally Flawless clarity, of over 17 carats each (estimate: HK$22,000,000-30,000,000), a pair of Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond earrings, of over 8 carats each (estimate: HK$8,500,000-12,000,000), an exceptional Kashmir sapphire ring of over 16 carats by Tiffany & Co (estimate: HK$12,800,000-18,000,000) and a natural pearl, pink diamond and diamond suite by Cartier (estimate: HK$8,000,000-12,000,000). Another focal point of the season is a 3.24 cartas fancy vivid blue/IF diamond ring by Moussaieff (estimate: HK$44,500,000 – 60,000,000,), which continues Christie’s tradition of offering only the most coveted coloured diamonds in the world.

Christie’s Handbags & Accessories auction on 25 November will feature 257 of the most sought-after handbags and accessories, with estimates from HK$10,000-HK$800,000. Headlining the auction will be a Matte White Niloticus Crocodile Himalaya Retourné Hermès Kelly 25 With Palladium Hardware, 2019, (estimate: HK$600,000-800,000), demonstrating the height of craftsmanship and exotic expertise. Limited edition and custom pieces will highlight the auction including a Matte Black Niloticus Crocodile so Black Hermès Birkin 35 With Black Pvd Hardware, 2018 (estimate: HK$300,000-350,000) and a custom Shiny Vert Émeraude & Rose Schéhérazade Niloticus Crocodile Hermès Birkin 25 With Brushed Gold Hardware, 2018 (estimate: HK$400,000-500,000). For collectors of Louis Vuitton, the auction will present limited editions collaborations by Supreme and Virgil Abloh including a Red & White Monogram Malle Courrier 90 Trunk With Silver Hardware by Supreme and Louis Vuitton, 2017, (estimate: HK$400,000-500,000) and a limited edition pieces by Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton, an iridescent Prism Monogram Keepall Bandoulière 50 With White Hardware, (estimate: HK$15,000-20,000).
Christie’s Fine & Rare Wines and Spirits auction on 23 November will present the rarest wines and spirits, many offered from superb collections. The sale will lead by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Conti 1999.
A collection of great wines from a private cellar in continental Europe will be presented, featuring Petrus and Le Pin 2010 in pristine cases, alongside a small private collection of Bordeaux from the eighties all bought on release and in exceptional quality, the highlight is a very rare case of Leroy Clos-Vougeot 1990.
Further collections include wines recently packed from a private cellar in France, spanning the great classic regions with many treasures such as Romanée-Conti 1989. Following the success of wines offer last May, Christie’s will offer a fantastic private collection of finest Mosel wines from Egon Müller and JJ Prüm, including the legendary 1975, 1976 and 1983 vintages.
The auction will also present true legends like Mouton Rothschild 1945, Romanée-Conti 1999 and a fine range of Domaine Leroy and d’Auvenay. Following a superb offering of grand- and premier cru Burgundy, including La Tâche 1989, the sale will continue with a collection of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Tuscan wines, all from recent vintages and in original wooden cases. Domaine Leroy is one of the best producers of fine Burgundy, the limited quantity makes them highly sought-after and the auction will offer a collection of Leroy, featuring 21 different wines.
With an exceptional collection of fine wines of the world, the Fine & Rare Wines sale will continue with a diverse array of highlights from Ponsot, Screaming Eagle and Clos de Tart, alongside rising stars including Cerbaiona, Arnaud Ente and Michel Magnien. The final collection will present full dozens of Lafite and Latour 1989, Mouton 1961 and a range of Hermitage La Chapelle 1983.
Christie’s specializes in rare and old Madeira wines and the auction will present a selection of only the best and most rare Madeira’s back to 1801, which will appeal to collectors across the globe.
Leading the spirits section of the auction will be a selection of fine Whiskies including the rare Karuizawa “Aqua of Life” 50 Year Old and The Glenlivet 50 Year-Old Winchester Collection.
