Jop Ubbens, Chairman, Christie’s Amsterdam: We look forward to the Post-War and Contemporary Art sale on 4 and 5 November. "We are very pleased with the results of The Hofland Collection. It is interesting to note that the majority of the top lots in Amsterdam were sold to both Dutch and international private collectors as well as to a Dutch museum. With 90% of the lots sold, the market for mainly Dutch impressionist and modern paintings remains very strong. Christie’s Amsterdam will continue to showcase single owner collections, such as the I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection of Old Master drawings in December 2014. Past successes included the collections of the Scheringa Museum of Realist Art and Piet and Ida Sanders, to which we can now add the successful sale of The Hofland Collection. |
