RESULTS | Magnificent Jewels Spring Auction 2019 Totaled HK$348,640,250/US$44,618,910
Hong Kong – On 28th May, Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction totaled HK$348,640,250 /US$44,618,910. The top lot of the sale was THE BUBBLE GUM PINK, A 3.43 CARATS FANCY VIVID PURPLISH PINK DIAMOND RING, BY MOUSSAIEFF, which realized HK$58,825,000 /US$7,528,412, with a price per carat of US$2.2m.
Other notable results include: The Grand Muzos, a pair of 23.34/23.18 carat ColombiaN emerald earrings, which realized HK$34,925,000/US$4,469,695, almost US$100,000 per carat.
A jadeite cabochon ring and a pair of jadeite cabochon earrings both doubled their estimates with spirited bidding in the saleroom, achieving HK$9,485,000/US$1,213,888 and HK$9,245,000/US$1,183,173 respectively.
The auction welcomed participation from 130 buyers from 17 countries and 4 continents.
