<strong>PICASSO CERAMICS SALE</strong> <strong>NOW LIVE</strong>
Visage aux yeux rieurs (A.R. 608) (1969, estimate: £25,000-35,000); Vase aztèque aux quatre visages (A.R. 402) (1957, estimate: £55,000-75,000) and Lampe femme (A.R. 298) (1955, estimate: £10,000-15,000)

London - Christie’s is pleased to announce that the next iteration of Picasso Ceramics is now live for bidding, and will remain open until 25 September. This online-only sale is a favourite of the autumn calendar and is the largest sale of Picasso’s ceramic works to be offered by an auction house in London.

With a vast array of playful works that radiate Pablo Picasso’s joie de vivre, highlights include an exquisite example of Picasso’s iconic Aztec vase, Vase aztèque aux quatre visages (A.R. 402) (1957, estimate: £55,000-75,000, above centre), a sophisticated ceramic that imaginatively references Pre-Columbian motifs. This is presented alongside Visage aux yeux rieurs (A.R. 608) (1969, estimate: £25,000-35,000, above left) and Lampe femme (A.R. 298) (1955, estimate: £10,000-15,000, above right).

Further works include Chouette (A.R. 604) (1969, estimate: £10,000-15,000), a vase in the shape of an owl, and Pichet espagnole (A.R. 245) (1954, estimate: £6,000-8,000), one of an edition of 150.

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death. Christie’s, as the leading auction house for works by Picasso, joins the art world in a global celebration of the artist and his legacy. The pieces will be on view from 13 to the 25 September, during which Christie’s is hosting a Lates event on 14 September dedicated to the artist; an enriching evening filled with talks, workshops and performances as the artistic legacy of Pablo Picasso is explored.
