Christie's Post-War to Present Totals $26,117,178: 96% Sold By Lot | 139% Hammer Above Low Estimate | 12 Artist Records Set

NEW YORK – Christie’s Post-War to Present sale totaled $26,117,178, with 96% sold by lot and 139% hammer above low estimate. The sale attracted global participation with bidders from 32 countries and achieved 12 new artist records.
The top lot of the sale was Ed Ruscha, Kids, a superb example from Ruscha’s City Lights series, which achieved $2,580,000. Additional top lots from the sale were Jeff Koons, Travel Bar, and Lynne Drexler, Flowered Hundred, both sold for $1,197,000.
The sale achieved strong results and achieved new artist records for female abstract artists, including: Lynne Drexler, Lee Bontecou on paper, Anne Truitt on paper, Louise Fishman, Deborah Remington and others. Other notable results were achieved for lots from several important private collections being sold to benefit charitable initiatives, including: Property sold to benefit the Cleveland Clinic and Property to benefit the Bronx Museum of the Arts.
