The highest prices in Thursday’s Design sale were achieved for exemplary objects made by Les Lalannes, the iconic 20th century artist couple. Normandie saw a strong result, selling for $378,000, and Jean Dunand’s extraordinary bed ‘Aux Nénuphars et Poissons’ in lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlays, formerly in the collection of Steven A. Greenberg surpassed its high estimate to sell for $441,000. A Charlotte Perriand ‘Tunisie’ Bookcase realized $352,000.
