NEW YORK – Christie’s is pleased to announce our series of Spring Marquee Week Day sales taking place 12 – 13 May 2023, live at Rockefeller Center: Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale, and Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale.

Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale

The Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale will feature work by the iconic masters of post-war art through to the thrilling and innovative makers of the present day. This season brings together important artists representing the last 75 years of art and culture, including prime examples of Abstract Expressionism by Jackson Pollock and the Color Field movement by Helen Frankenthaler; ground- breaking paintings and drawings by Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha and Wayne Thiebaud; the important and celebrated output of Alice Neel, Yayoi Kusama and George Condo; and the cutting-edge digital art and exciting new work by today’s voices. Highlights include works from the prominent collections of Alan and Dorothy Press, Ann and Gordon Getty, Nicole Emmerich Teweles, and Jacques and Emy Cohenca, as well as commissions to benefit the non-profit Art Into Acres as well as the Bronx Museum.

Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale

Christie’s Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale in New York features a selection of works by the masters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including standout examples of modernism and Impressionism by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Piet Mondrian. For over 40 years, Christie’s dedicated Works on Paper Sale has celebrated this unique category as a platform for connoisseurial collecting of a medium rich in experimentation and invention.

Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale

Christie’s Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale in New York offers a curated selection of works featuring paintings and sculptures by the leading artists of the 20th century. The sale will feature works from the Collection of Dr. Julius and Joan Jacobson. Highlights include Pablo Picasso’s Le peintre et son modèle from the Ann and Gordon Getty Collection as well as top works by Paul Signac, Henri Matisse and Pierre Bonnard, among others.
