Renato Pennisi – Head of Sale, Milan Modern and Contemporary said:

We are thrilled with the results achieved during our annual auction “Milan Modern and Contemporary”, which achieved €15,199,420, once again meeting the ever growing global appetite for Italian Art. Palazzo Clerici buzzed with activity as competitive bidding occurred in the room and over the telephone between buyers from a dozen countries. A varied selection of high quality Modern classics and Contemporary Italian Art was offered and sold and we are particularly pleased with the record achieved for Italian Pop artist Tano Festa, whose work “Via Veneto 2” fetched €517,800, over 5 times its pre-sale estimate. Milan continues to be an excellent strategic platform to watch the market expand and we are pleased to have delivered such a great selection of works to new and distinguished international collectors alike.
