Mariolina Bassetti, Chairman, Post-War and Contemporary Art, Continental Europe and Chairman, Christie’s: “We’re very happy with this year’s results for the sales curated by the Italian team, spanning from our traditional 20th /21st Century Online Sales, to the exquisite single owner collection sold in May, to the Thinking Italian Sale platform in Paris, which continues to present the very best Italian artists in the context of their avant-garde peers. Exceptional works by Alberto Burri, Alighiero Boetti, Lucio Fontana, Tancredi and Salvo all outperformed pre-sale expectations this May, October and November. We also had a particular focus on private sales.”
