Simon Tam, Head of Wine, Asia commented “In a market full of choices, the first consideration is provenance, which has always been the philosophy of the Christie’s Wine department. This season we have been able to offer wines directly from 84 producers through the Great Estates sale, as well as a single owner collection of Californian Sine Qua Non cult wine. A resurgence in sales of top quality Bordeaux shows an ever-increasing trend in the market, reinforcing the concept of strong provenance. Highlight Bordeaux lots that far exceeded their high estimate were Latour, Lafite, Margaux and Petrus. In our 30th anniversary year in Asia, we continue to offer some of the most important collections from around the world, as well as represent great wine producers at auction.”
