Keith Gill, Head of Sale: “This Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale showed considerable interest across all of the leading artists and movements of the category, including works by Picasso, Chagall, Redon and Lebasque. Large scale modern sculptures with impeccable provenance led the sale, with the Jean Arp offered from an Important Swsiss Collection (lot 359) and the  Alexander Archipenko (lot 368) from The Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection both realising exceptional prices, following international competition from important private collectors. We now look forward to the Picasso Ceramics Sale at South Kensington and the Modern British & Irish Evening Sale at King Street, both on 25 June.”
