“Collectors showed keen interest for the finest snuff bottles, small jade carvings and Song and Qing works of art and ceramics at Christie’s inaugural mid-season auction of Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art. The private collection of snuff bottles was well-received by bidders from around the world, as exemplified by A Very Rare Enamelled Double-Gourd-Shaped Porcelain Snuff Bottle Qianlong Mark And Period, which achieved HK$6,280,000, doubling its estimate. We also saw enthusiastic participation, particularly from young collectors, for The Pavilion Sale, resulting in lots selling well above their estimates, including A Blue And White 'Dragon' Jar, Zhadou being hammered down at four times its low estimate,” said Chi- Fan Tsang, Vice President of Christie's Asia and Specialist Head of Christie's Hong Kong Chinese Ceramics & Works of Art Department.
