RESULTS: Christie's New York Finest & Rarest Wines and Spirits totals $1.52 million, June 7, 2019
New York - Christie’s New York Finest & Rarest Wines and Spirits auction on June 7 achieved $1,528,938 with 80% sold by value and 80% sold by lot. The top lot of the sale was Rousseau, Chambertin 2005, 12 bottles per lot, that sold for $43,750.
Strong results were achieved for rare imperials including Petrus 1990, that sold for $40,000; and Château Mouton-Rothschild 2000 that realized $20,000. Other notable wine results included six magnums of Georges Roumier, Bonnes-Mares 2005, , which realized $35,000; and six bottles of Château Lafleur 1982, that achieved $12,500.
The auction closed with outstanding private collections of malt whisky featuring a number of desirable bottlings from the Macallan distillery and a rare Springbank Millennium Collection.
