The sale was sold 91% by value.

Christie’s inaugural offering of South African wines at auction by Christie’s was 100% sold.

Highlights of the sale include: 5 bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Conti 1978, achieving HK$735,000/US$94,231, and 12 bottles of Petrus 2005, which was sold for HK$294,000/US$37,692.

Simon Tam, Head of Wine, Christie’s Asia, commented “The sale demonstrated the continued appetite for fine wines in the Hong Kong market, which was evident in the two single owner collections offered today. We were also particularly pleased with the enthusiastic welcome received for mature champagne of great provenance. Christies leadership position was once again reinforced, achieving exceptional results for the selection of Grand Crus from South Africa which was 100% sold. Looking ahead, we will continue to bring to the market only the most delectable offerings from around the world in our upcoming sales.”
