Hong Kong – On 24 November 2023, Christie’s opened its Hong Kong Autumn Auction Season with an impressive single-owner wine sale – The Dr A. Botenga Cellar: Six Decades of Collecting Part 1, which realised a sale total of HK$42,029,000 / US$5,416,954 and achieved sell-through-rates of 98% by lot and by value.

 

Led by iconic offerings from renowned Bordeaux Châteax and Burgundy Domaines, the outstanding results underscored the quality of this collection and the strength of Christie's pricing strategy. The sale attracted global participation from 13 countries across 3 continents, and 61% of bids were placed online. New, younger collectors were enticed by the sale, with millennials accounting for 67% of new buyers.

 

The Dr A. Botenga Cellar: Six Decades of Collecting Part II will continue to offer to global wine collectors in London on 1 December.
