- Reflecting the strength of the market for S. Lowry across price points, The Lake (£176,400) led the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale. Three further works by Lowry were presented:

- Edith Rimmington, Capsicum sold for £15,120, against an estimate of £1,000-2,000, setting a new world auction record for the artist
- Eileen Agar, Poppy Seed realised £40,320 against a low estimate of £10,000
- Eileen Agar, Wandering Minstrel (£45,360)
- Ithell Colquhoun, Kelp Gathering more than doubled its estimate of £8,000 to sell for £21,420
- The Modern British and Irish Art Sales offered the largest group of Vorticist art to date on the market, with eight works offered in the Day Sale, highlighted by:
