FINE AND RARE WINES ONLINE: FEATURING THE TIME CAPSULE COLLECTION OF UNDISTURBED LEGENDS OF THE CÔTE D’ORTOTAL: $1,505,000
LOS ANGELES – Christie’s Americas Wine Department is pleased to share the results of Fine and Rare Wines Online: Featuring the Time Capsule Collection of Undisturbed Legends of the Côte d’Or. The sale totaled $1,505,000, selling 100% by value, and 113% above its low estimate. The sale saw competitive bidding around the globe with 19 auction records set.
Fine and Rare Wines Online featured one of the most exceptional private collections of Burgundy to appear at auction. From the cellar of an esteemed collector, The Time Capsule Collection is a veritable roll call of great producers, including producers such as Domaines Rousseau, G. Roumier, J.F. Mugnier, Dujac and de Vogüé.
The top lot of the sale was a Georges Roumier, Bonnes-Mares 1990, which realized $56,250, selling for 161% by its low estimate. Other top lots of the sale include two 1998 Rousseau, Chambertins, each with 12 bottles per lot. Both realized $30,000. Also selling for $30,000, was a 1997 Georges Roumier, Bonnes-Mares, 250% of its low estimate. Many lots sold above their low estimates including a Dujac, Clos de la Roche 1998, which sold 344% by its low estimate, realizing $13,750.
