Domaine De La Romanée-conti, The Pride Of Vosne-romanée: An Exceptional Single Owner Collection

Los Angeles – Christie’s Wine Department in America is pleased to announce Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, The Pride of Vosne-Romanée: An Exceptional Single Owner Collection. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti produces just 6,000-8,000 cases per year and is the only Domaine in Burgundy to produce wine exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. This single owner online auction features a spectacular offering of 75 lots from this exalted producer including many of the best vintages of the past four decades. The collection is exceptional in condition and provenance, with many lots offered in their original wooden cases from the cellar of a connoisseur and long-time supporter of the wines of Burgundy. The collector has been visiting the vineyards of Burgundy for the last 40 years and has a good relationship with the Domaine.
Much of the bottles were purchased upon release from the Burgundy Wine Company and selectively from respected auction houses, with a focus on lots of exceptional provenance. The collection was stored with care in an immaculate subterranean cellar, which is temperature and humidity-controlled. The condition of each lot is exceptional, a result of perfect storage and the immaculate cellar environment. Of the many highlights, the collection includes several vintages of Romanée-Conti and Montrachet, Assortments of the 1995 and 2002 vintages in their original wooden cases, and a large selection of magnums including 1985 and 1989 La Tâche. Our valued clients need not look any further for the best of Burgundy. This is a collector's dream.
Chris Munro, Head of Department, Wine and Spirits, Christie’s Americas, commented: “Christie’s is delighted to be entrusted with the sale of this remarkable collection of wine from the world’s leading Burgundy Domaine.
