Christie’s presents Two Live Auctions of  Fine and Rare Wines and Spirits

Hong Kong – Building upon the strong momentum from last month’s white-glove online sale, Christie’s Wine Department will kickstart the Hong Kong Autumn Auction Week with two live auctions: An Exceptional Private Cellar Featuring d’Auvenay, Macallan and Karuizawa on 25 November, and Finest and Rarest Wines on 26 November.

Single-owner collections continue to be in high demand among wine connoisseurs. On the first day of the Autumn Auctions, Christie’s will offer over 540 lots from an exceptional private collection, featuring a wide range of Bordeaux vintages produced from 1959 – 2005, carefully matured for multi-dimensional complexity and at their peak drinking windows.

Lovers of Bordeaux will be ecstatic about an incredible selection by the finest producers from the Left Bank, including Chateaux Latour, Lafite-Rothschild, Margaux, Mouton-Rothschild, Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, as well as luminaries of the Right Bank including Cheval Blanc, Pavie, L’Evangile, Trotanoy, and more.

This sale will also offer an enticing selection of exceedingly rare Burgundy vintages from Domaine d'Auvenay and Domaine Leroy, containing stunning examples of both white and red wines. Given their very limited production, the wide range of vintages being offered all in this single sale will surely be a rare sight.

Other world-renowned Burgundy Domaines will also feature in the sale, including Romanée-Conti, Méo-Camuzet, Emmanuel Rouget, Leflaive, Armand Rousseau, Dugat-Py, Georges Roumier, Vougeraie, Dujac, Sylvain-Cathiard, and more; and from Rhône, Hermitage La Chapelle in melchior (18L), and Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin, and Salon from Champagne complete the vinous offerings.

Not to be missed at the auction is whisky by arguably the two finest Scottish and Japanese: The Macallan and Karuizawa. The rarity of the Karuizawa selection is particularly notable, with bottles from this “ghost distillery” becoming more and more scarce.

On 26 November, the live auction of Finest and Rarest Wines will present the crème de la crème of wines from various world-class cellars. Exceptional wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leroy, Harlan Estate, and Screaming Eagle will lead the sale, followed by vintages from all five of the Bordeaux First Growths and right bank icons such as Le Pin, Petrus, and Cheval Blanc, as well as a superb selection of more Burgundy wines from 1980s to the past decade, including DRC, Leroy, Henri Jayer, and Armand Rousseau.

Wine lovers can also seize the opportunity to acquire their favourite bottles for the festive season, in the Finest and Rarest Wines online sale from 3 – 14 December which comprises over 400 lots, from classic to “natural” wines, old world to new world. Wine highlights include Château Lafite-Rothschild 1990 in multiple cases; a beautiful selection of Burgundies from Domaine Leroy, Bizot, Hubert Lignier, and Dominique Laurent; multiple vintages of Harlan Estate and Bond; a selection from top Jura producer Renaud Bruyère & Adeline Houillon; an ensemble of young to mature Barolo; alongside a single owner collection that features a selection of Château Lafite, Château Haut-Brion, DRC, Armand Rousseau, and Krug .
