Hong Kong – On 25 November, Christie’s Hong Kong held two live wine and spirits auctions – “Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau Part II” and “Finest and Rarest Wines & Spirits”, realising a combined sale total of HK$89,097,500 / US$11,470,715. Across both sales, the spirited saleroom saw participation from 14 countries spanning 4 continents, with 36% of lots sold online through Christie’s LiveTM. With the conclusion of Part II of the sale series, “Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau” totalled over HK$125 million / US$16 million overall. An Immaculate European Connoisseur’s Collection Part II” and “The Cellar of a Meticulous Wine Lover” continues to welcome bidding online until 6 December.

Leading the live auctions was lot 5080 from “Iconic Wines From Joseph Lau Part II” — Henri Jayer, Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1993, 9 bottles per lot sold for HK$3,250,000 / US$418,416 against its pre-sale low estimate of HK$800,000 / US$110,000.

Red Burgundy saw exceptional results for Henri Jayer and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti

36 lots of Henri Jayer more than doubled their pre-sale low estimates; 14 of these achieved more than four times their low estimates; six achieved over five times their low estimates

For the selection of Red Bordeaux, Petrus was highly coveted with lot 5039 Petrus 1990, 6 magnums per lot achieving HK$437,500 / US$56,325
