365 DAYS OF CHRISTIE'S 3.0

NEW YORK – Christie’s is pleased to announce the one year anniversary of Christie’s 3.0, the fully on-chain Web3 platform of the historic 257-year-old auction house. In just one year, there have been six auctions held through Christie’s 3.0 featuring 100 works from more than 70 artists. Since launching with the 100% sold single-owner sale Diana Sinclair: Phases in October of 2023, Christie’s 3.0 has seen hundreds of new registrants and bidders.
Nicole Sales Giles, Christie’s Vice President and Director of Digital Art Sales, commented, “Since March 2021, when Christie’s brought Digital Art to the world’s stage, it has been an absolute pleasure working with so many talented and diverse artists and collectors in the space. Launching our fully on-chain platform over a year ago has enabled us to scale our offering of exceptional works of digital art while educating and growing our global audience. Going forward, Christie’s will continue to put artists first, highlighting the best of the best talent in this community.”
Jon-Ross Le Haye, Christie’s Head of Digital Design, commented, “Christie's 3.0 offers a novel approach to collecting, featuring intuitive, user-friendly interfaces driven by cutting-edge on-chain bidding technology, alongside physical events augmented with virtual galleries. The success of this dynamic approach reflects collectors' increasing appetite for hybrid experiences and positions Christie's as a leader in the art market's innovation landscape.”
Diana Sinclair, Artist, commented, “So much hard work went into both the creation of Christie's 3.0 and the project, Phases, I worked on to debut with them. Watching that all coalesce last year was a huge moment, and I'll never forget the impact it had for an artist like me to get to take that spotlight with such an important institution in the art world. In the spirit of innovation, the foundation of their new platform, they chose to back a young artist taking risks and that collaboration was monumental and beautiful.”
Claire Silver, Artist, commented, “Christie’s is a place people walk by and daydream 'someday' about. Walking into those doors and seeing my work—AI—on the walls was a surreal, life-changing experience.”
DeeKay, Artist, commented, "Auctioning my art at Christie's was like sharing a piece of my soul with the world. It's a memory that will forever illuminate my artistic path. We are in a new era, where digital art is finally gaining recognition as a legitimate form of artistic expression. I am just thrilled to be part of the historical transition through Christie's."
Alpha Centauri Kid, Artist, commented, “Working with Christie’s has shown me what it’s like to work with people who deal with art nonstop and have a much deeper understanding on how to work with artists. I always feel less anxious knowing my art is in their hands. The relationships I’ve made with the great people at Christie’s has changed my life for the better and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
